What's in the Sunday, February 21, 2010 Bulletin?
Welcome!
The Discipleship Committee is promoting church family connections by sending cards for special occasions, illness or injury, and sympathy. Please stop at the table in the back of the Sanctuary and sign your name or write a note to the following members this week: Gayle Martin & Family, Alberta Atttick who is celebrating her 90th birthday, and Cindy Shannon who has broken a few bones in her foot.
Bud Gruber truly appreciates the many calls, cards of concern and well wishes following his shoulder surgery and recovery at home. He’s had some complications which have delayed his return to church. He missed you all and hopes to be back to church soon.
Charlotte Blecker thanks each and everyone for the support, love, prayers, cards and kindness you’ve shown during a very difficult time. She feels truly blessed to belong to such a wonderful & warm church family.

DISCIPLESHIP EDUCATION & FORMATION
Sunday School for all ages is held at 9:30 a.m.
Christianity 101: Atonement
March 1 at 6:30 pm. we are having what I am sure will be a lively discussion on the topic of atonement. How might we speak of the significance of Jesus’ death? The typical formulation that was developed in the Middle Ages is not much help to us today. That archaic language has confused and even turned off many seekers. Do our songs and sermons reflect the significance of the work of Christ? WHY DID GOD COME? Let’s learn what scholars are saying today. (Nursery will be available.)
The YAMS are studying "Talking Faith, an Eight-Part Study on Growing and Sharing Your Faith." We thought this would be an appropriate follow-up to the fall E-vent. If you would like to deepen your faith and grow in your ability to share it, consider joining us. The "Talking Faith" course promises to energize us and get us talking with one another about things that really matter. Together, we will address such topics as "How Do We Know Anything about God?," "What Does God Do?," and "Who's to Say What's Right and Wrong?" There will be fun activities and great conversation around real world questions. All are welcome and encouraged to attend on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the parsonage.
Save the date: Women’s Spirituality Retreat – March 20 & 21 at the Van Buskirk Pond! Registration forms are available on the counter in the church office.
