This Sunday, September 10 at 9:30am we welcome back to the pulpit, the Rev. Paul Gehris. Paul has had a long ministry career and even served as an interim at CPUCC three different times, most recently between Rev. Jim Morris & Rev. Jeff Whitman. For those of you who remember Paul, I encourage you to be with us this Sunday to reconnect. For those who haven’t had the privilege, I encourage you to be with us because Paul is quite a character! The Sanctuary Choir also returns this Sunday and they will present the anthem “Blessings Over Me.” Scott will also be sharing his take on the secular song “Nothing More” by the Alternate Routes as the Offertory (I personally love this tune!)
Stay after Worship this week for the Rally Day Picnic. We’ll have Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, all the fixins and lots of sides plus dessert. After we eat we’ll have games and activities for all ages. Lunch will be inside but some of the games may be outside (weather permitting).
Then….after the picnic we invite you to check out our new Worship service “The Charging Station” at 5pm in Fellowship Hall. This service will meet every week in the Fellowship Hall. Different then our traditional Sunday morning worship, this service will be geared toward those who like a more informal worship setting and prefer more “contemporary” music styles. While we hope that some CPUCC members will attend this service to provide much needed support for this new endeavor, we also hope that you will spread the word to your friends, family members, and coworkers who are unchurched. Why the name “The Charging Station”? Because church is—in a very real sense—a spiritual station in which we come and are “recharged” for the week. In worship we encounter Christ’s community, hear His Word, and are reminded of our place and role in His mission. Find out more at https://www.facebook.com/chargingstationhbg/.
The Sunday morning Worship service is audio recorded and available on CD upon request to Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-545-3782. Click on the links below for Rev. Gehris’ sermon “Church Discipline” and the Special Music.

Plan to be with us next Sunday, September 17 when Barrett Rhoads will present the sermon. We’re excited to also have in the pulpit Jess Nupponen (Sept. 24), Thaddeus Sampson (Oct. 1) Pastor Scott Siciliano (Oct. 22) and Rev. Claude Dencler (Oct. 29). While it can be a little hectic making sure we have someone to preach each Sunday, it’s wonderful that we get to hear from so many wonderful speakers and pastors. Thank you to Cindy Gnech, Deacon for Worship & the Arts for coordinating people for the Worship services while we complete our search for an Interim Pastor. (ps. I’ve heard we’re getting closer!!!! Stay tuned).
