Sold Down the River 8/13/17

This Sunday, August 13 we invite you to be with us for worship at 9:30am when Pastor Scott Siciliano will be preaching on the theme “Sold Down the River” based on the scripture texts from Genesis chapter 37 verses 1-4 and 12-28 and Romans chapter 10 verses 5-15.  Thaddeus Sampson will serve as our Liturgist this week and Bonnie Cox will present the Show & Tell for the children.  Our Living Faith will be presented by the Lay Reader, Bobbee Karchner, and she’ll talk to us about the good works being done by HELP Ministries.

Don’t worry that we are currently without a permanent Pastor.  We are in the process of hiring an Interim Minister while we conduct a national search for our next Senior Minister.  Currently our pulpit is being filled by guests and we are enjoying the varying styles being presented each week.    We welcome all to come and be with us as God takes us on this new and exciting journey in the life of our congregation.  We continue to serve a congregation that is diverse and welcoming to all who enter.  We promise to continue our vision to listen, to love and to restore hope and community to all God’s children.

Next Sunday, August 20, the Rev. Rick Luciotti, from the Penn Central Conference staff will be preaching.  I hope you will plan to be with us.  On August 27 the Rev. Nora Faust will be in the pulpit.  Nora is also on the Conference staff and she and her family attend worship with us often.  On September 3 the Rev. Cathy Hubbard will be with us.  Cathy is a CPUCC disciple and although she has been experiencing some health concerns she hopes to be mended enough to share her thoughts with us on September 3.

Thank you to Cindy Gnech, Deacon for Worship & the Arts, for arranging to keep our pulpit supplied along with liturgists and children’s time leaders.  Thank you to Pastor Scott and Pastor Roben for ensuring that Communion services continue to be meaningful.  Scott is also helping to prepare the liturgies each week.  We are a truly blessed congregation!
