What to Expect

No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

Here are the answers to some common questions.  If you want to know more or we missed your particular questions please contact Kathy in the church office at kneely@cpucc.org or 717-545-3782.

When and where are services held?
Sunday Worship services are generally at 8:15 & 10:45am and are held in our church Sanctuary.  (Summer may vary)
The Charging Station Worship is held at 5:00pm in our Fellowship Hall and concludes with a lite supper.
Taize Worship is held on the 4th Wednesday of each month in the Phillips Chapel at 7pm.

We’re located at 5000 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109

What about parking?
Parking is not generally an issue for us as our lot is quite large.  Some social events, however, may require us to use additional parking with our friends & neighbors at K-Mart or Best Buy.

What should I wear?
Dress is casual.  Wear what is comfortable for you.  Some people dress more formally and that’s fine too.

How accessible is the church if I’m disabled?
We have handicapped parking, a ramp into the church and cut-outs at some of our pews so that you may sit with your abled family or friends.

What can I expect at your services?
Our early service (8:15am) is traditional and includes hymns, scripture, liturgy, a children’s moment and the sermon.
Our late service (10:45am) is eclectic.  We have the sermon & liturgy, a mix of hymn/song styles, the occasional drama or liturgical dance, our Sanctuary Choir and most weeks our Revelation Band.  Truly something for everyone.
We hope in either service to challenge each other to be better Christians.

What about your music program?
Our music program includes the Revelation Band, the Jubilate Ringers (bells), the Sanctuary Choir and the King’s Kids Choir.  We also have soloists, instrumental accompanists, and special groups.

What about my children?
It is perfectly acceptable for your children to be in worship with you.   If at any point you feel it necessary you may take them to the children’s nursery located in the classroom beside the sanctuary where workers will be available to sit with them.   During the Sunday School hour,  9:30-10:30am, classes are available for all ages Toddler to Adult.

Will someone try to “sell” me on your church?
No.  You will find friendly greeters willing to answer your questions.

I’m not sure I believe in God; is that OK?
Yes, our members search for truth on many spiritual paths.

I’m gay/lesbian/transgender, will I be comfortable?
Yes.  No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey you are welcome here!

What else is happening on Sundays?
Generally, every Sunday we offer Sunday School for everyone (from toddler through adult) at 9:30am.   After each worship service we host “Fellowship Time” and offer a light refreshements and good conversation.

Can I be involved in activities if I’m not a member?
Yes.  We welcome you to become an active participant in any and all activities.
